Studio 8 is a photo and film rental studio in the Westerpark neighbourhood of Amsterdam, next to the Westergasfabriek and about ten minutes by bike from the city centre. Its main feature is a 360-degree eggshell infinity curve measuring 10 by 15 metres and 5.3 metres high, which runs seamlessly into the side walls, ceiling and floor inside a 10 by 20 metre studio. The space can be made completely dark, has electrically operated trusses, five 32 amp CEE power connections, a Bluetooth sound system and free WiFi. A 5 metre roller door gives secondary access, making it suitable for car shoots, and decor panels are available for set building. There is a 45 square metre entrance area, make-up and production facilities, a production office and a professional kitchen. The studio is mostly unstaffed and rented to one production at a time. It is part of an equipment rental company next door, which offers combination discounts, background paper and consumables, and there is free internal parking.
